A, B Representative spontaneous inhibitory postsynaptic currents (sIPSCs) recorded at − 70 mV in male aIC and pIC. C, D Upon conducting a quantitative analysis of the mean amplitude and frequency across these areas, it was found that although the amplitudes were similar, there was a lower frequency of inhibitory events in the pIC when compared to the aIC. E, F Log-normal curve fittings with confidence intervals (± CI) reveal that the amplitude and frequency distribution are skewed to the right and to the left respectively in the aIC as compared to the pIC. Data are presented as box-and-whisker plots (minimum, maximum, median) and analyzed via Mann–Whitney U test. P-values < 0.05 are depicted in the graphs.
