CD44-deficient mice have improved glucose tolerance. Following 10 weeks on diet, wild-type (B6 and C3H) and CD44-deficient (CD44.B6 and CD44.C3H) mice were administered an intraperitoneal injection of 1 g/kg glucose. Using a glucometer, glucose was measured from blood samples collected at 0, 15, 30, 60, 120 min post-glucose injection in males (A) and females (B), and the area under the curve (AUC) was calculated (C). Data are mean ± SE (n = 8). Time points labeled with * are P < 0.05 by unpaired Student’s t-test. Bar graphs labeled with different letters are P < 0.05 by ANOVA
