From: An interaction between fetal sex and placental weight and efficiency predicts intrauterine growth in response to maternal protein insufficiency and gestational exposure window in a mouse model of FASD

Fig. 2

Gestational alcohol exposure beginning from embryonic day (E) 8.5 to E17.5 and E13.5 to E17.5 and comparisons of these exposure windows with respect to gestational weight gain (a), litter size (b), gestational weight gain per fetus (c), percent males in litter (d), uterine horn weight (e), and uterine horn weight per fetus (f). Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA, and post hoc pairwise comparisons were analyzed using pairwise t test with Benjamini-Hochberg correction. Values are presented as means ± SEMs (a, c–f) or mean ± SD (b). n = 9 dams for NP-MD-8 and NP-MD-13 groups, n = 8 dams for NP-Alc-8 group, and n = 10 dams for NP-Alc-13 group. Asterisk (*) denotes statistical significance (P < 0.05) for the indicated comparison. Abbreviations: Alc, alcohol; MD, maltodextrin; NP, normal protein
