Body temperature and heart rate in adult and old male and female mice with eu-, hyper- and hypothyroid states. Rectal body temperature measurements and non-invasive ECG were performed in adult (a) and old (b) male and female mice to assess body temperature and (c, d) to determine changes in heart rate. Under TH excess and deprivation, persistent higher body temperature of female mice was noted at all TH status and ages, whereas no sex impact was noted for heart rate. Data are presented as mean ± SD, n = 7–11 animals/sex/treatment, two-way ANOVA followed by Bonferroni post hoc analysis, *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001
