Effect of DOX exposure on gene expression of the Cyp2c family of cytochrome CYP enzymes. Total RNA was isolated from the hearts of male or female C57Bl/6 mice collected 24 h or 6 days after the administration of 20 mg/kg DOX or saline. Gene expression of a Cyp2c29 or b Cyp2c44 was determined by real-time PCR. Results of all groups were normalized to beta-actin levels and are expressed relative to male control of the same time point. Values are expressed as mean ± SEM. *p < 0.05, compared to control mice of the same sex; #p < 0.05, compared to male DOX-treated mice by Tukey’s post-hoc analysis.
